Mountain View Primary School
Location: Lukenya, Machakos County, Kenya
Amara commenced working with this school in 2011. Seeing the students study under a tree due to lack of space and the dilapidated existing calssrooms constructed with mabati, the Amara team felt there was a need for new classrooms. Additionally, the Amara team saw the need to upgrade the impassable roads to access the school.
Number of students has grown from 60 in 2010 to 125 in 2017.
