Olooloitikoshi Primary School

Location: Kajiado West sub-county between Kiserian and Insinya Towns

Amara started working with this school in 2025.

Olooloitikoshi Primary School was established in 2008 on 7 acres of land donated by the local Maasai community. Prior to its founding, children in the area faced delays in starting their primary school education or had to walk 10 kilometers daily just to attend school and this was just one-way.

It has a population of 470 students  from families whose livelihoods are small-scale livestock farmers, cattle herders and casual labourers.

The school has a lunch program that is fully supported by parents who donate 4 kilos of maize and 2 kilos of beans per child, per term.  However, they do not have a proper kitchen.

Thanks to our donors, Reena & Rupen Shah, Amara has supported them with:

  • Construction of a kitchen, storeroom and covered shelter in 2025
  • Installed two energy efficient cookers
  • Donated stationery and school supplies
